Our Partner and dear friend, Michelle Hanson, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Michelle guided and grew our payroll division, and was known for her high level of expertise, calm demeanor, and problem-solving skills. She was proactive, always focusing on new and improved ways to serve clients and expand her technical skills. Michelle was a humble, authentic, and positive role model for our firm – encouraging workplace wellness, excellent client service and showing gratitude. She was truly passionate about her work, and it showed.
Michelle studied accounting at Central Lakes College in Brainerd and Ridgewater College in Willmar, and joined CDS as a Payroll Specialist in 2007. She advanced rapidly, being promoted to Payroll Manager in 2010 and admitted as Partner and Director of Payroll Services in 2018.
Michelle was involved with the Willmar Winged Foot Running Club, Eagle Lake Association, and Just for Kix. She was a graduate of the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Perspectives program and Vision 2040 Leadership program.
Michelle will always be an inspiration to our team. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside her, and we’ll ensure that her legacy continues.
